The Great Africa Air SafariThe last flight leg of the Great African Air Safari takes the pilots out over open water. While DHC Beavers are often used as floatplanes, the Safari planes have landing gear. Although the flight plan will take them close to the shore, there are some inherent risks for these types of flights. Here are some of the ICAO guidelines for over water flying safety:
