Embark on a journey beyond the planet with the Museum of Flight’s Home Beyond Earth Exhibit, featuring an immersive ambient music suite by the local sound-design duo, Trash Lights. Composers Brendon Helgason and Steven Andrea, founders of the Subterranaut Recording Collective, bring their unique blend of ambient and neo-classical styles to this groundbreaking installation.

Trash Lights’ music suite consists of original compositions, seamlessly interwoven to transport visitors into the tranquil yet awe-inspiring realm of space. Designed to complement the visual and interactive elements of the exhibit, the soundscape evokes sensations of weightlessness, the vastness of the cosmos, and the technological marvels of space stations past, present, and future. Visitors can explore the exhibit at their own pace, with the music evolving as they move through different areas, creating a dynamic and ever-changing auditory experience.

The installation also features additional soundscapes, carefully curated to enhance the tonal atmosphere, including soundbites from actual space missions, such as rocket booster noises and ambient sounds from the International Space Station. These elements aim to spark a sense of wonder while ensuring accessibility for visitors of all ages and backgrounds.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind sensory experience! The exhibit, featuring Trash Lights’ stunning compositions, will be open through January 26th, 2025. Visit the Museum of Flight soon to immerse yourself in this unforgettable exploration of space, music, and technology.
